September 12th – 19th Fishing Report
The albies have arrived! They are immensely thick in Montauk, and Shinnecock has had more and more showing up every day. They are ferocious as they should be at this time of year, blitzing schools of rainbait, and eating epoxy jigs, Deadly Dicks, and Got Stryper pintails. The bass bite has been picking up as we start to slip into Fall, especially in the Sayville and Oakdale area. There are still Fluke around as well, for those who want to get their last licks in before the season closes on the 21st.
Offshore, there has been a ton of white marlin in the canyon that boats have been having fun with. They have been so thick that some boats have been getting them while chunking for tuna. There are still Yellowfins around in the 25 to 40 mile range as well. Find some good water with signs of life, and chances are you’ll find them!
