The R-31 S shares many of the features and qualities of her smaller sisterships, but notable additions to this larger model make her ideal for extended cruising while still being a trailerable trawler. The foredeck is equipped with seating and a table that raises or lowers depending on whether the boat is under way or at anchor for entertaining. The cockpit adds a larger entertaining area with wraparound seating that folds out of the gunwale and tucks away when not in use. Inside, two staterooms — a forward island berth with en-suite head and a midship berth with day head — pair with the familiar Ranger Tugs galley and helm layout that maximizes interior space. A starboard side door from the helm puts the crew on the side decks in a step for line handling at the bow. Like all Ranger Tugs, the R-31 S comes essentially turn-key, with standard bow and stern thrusters and a 320 HP Volvo D4 diesel inboard that achieves a 16-knot cruise speed.
